An Old Malt Cask bottling of 21 year old Arran single malt, drawn from a single cask laid down in February 1997 and cracked open in August. Following that 21 year long slumber, Hunter Laing bottled up the whisky as part of Old Malt Cask's 20th anniversary celebrations, producing 636 bottles.
Nose: Pineapple and treacle, with a little sponge cake in support.
Palate: More pineapple, though now it's been coated in sugar and roasted. Dried barley and a hint of toasted oak follow on.
Finish: Lemon peel, sultana, almond and cherry bakewell tart.
