Pousse d'Or

Pousse d'Or is one of the oldest and most prestigious wineries in the village of Volnay. In the 19th century, the Duvault-Blochet family, former owners of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti (DRC), owned a 100-hectare estate in Burgundy, including vineyards like Romanée Conti and Clos de Tart. Pousse d'Or, located at the southernmost part of the estate, was then known as "Bossue d'Or" (Golden Soil). In 1968, Jacques Seysses, the former owner of Domaine Dujac, apprenticed here under the renowned winemaker Gerard Potel.

In 1997, Patrick Landanger took over as the new owner, and in 2008, he acquired exceptional vineyards such as Bonnes-Mares and Les Amoureuses. This made Pousse d'Or a heavyweight winery with prestigious vineyards in both the Côte de Beaune and the Côte de Nuits. Pousse d'Or boasts three Monopole vineyards exclusively located within the village of Volnay: Clos de la Bousse d'Or, Clos des 60 Ouvrées, and Clos d'Audignac. These vineyards are home to the oldest vines in the winery, producing outstanding quality wines.

Wine Advocate highly rated the 2009 Pousse d'Or wines, with the top-tier wine Bonnes Mares and the Monopole vineyard Volnay Clos de la Bousse d'Or receiving 96 points. Corton du Roi and Clos de la Roche were awarded 95 points each, solidifying the winery's reputation for excellence.
