The Prüm family is a large family with many branches, and Joh. Jos. Prüm is one of them. At that time, the family faced a division of assets among seven individuals, and Joh. Jos. Prüm was founded by the eldest son, Johann Josef Prüm, in 1911. Joh. Jos. Prüm is located in the Mosel wine region in Germany.

The winery has four vineyards: Wehlener Sonnenuhr, Graacher Himmelreich, Bernkasteler Badstube, and Zeltinger Sonnenuhr. The most famous among them is Wehlener Sonnenuhr, also known as the "Sundial Vineyard," and Graacher Himmelreich, referred to as the "Kingdom of Heaven Vineyard." The winery enjoys exceptional geographical advantages, situated on steep slopes that maximize sun exposure. The soil is rich in slate, and the vines, which are over 40-50 years old, extend more than 2 meters deep into the soil, providing the wines with additional mineral flavors. It is definitely a must-have bottle for wine enthusiasts' collection.
