The 2015 Dauzac is a blend of 72% Cabernet Sauvignon and 28% Merlot, the highest percentage of the former in recent years, and matured in 60% new oak barrels. It has a tightly wound but precise bouquet with scents of blackberry cassis and a hint of violet - very polished and focused. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin, pure black fruit laced with graphite and spice, gently building in the mouth, finishing with a precise and quite sustained, Pauillac-inspired grace. This is an excellent wine from the estate that will give 20-25 years of drinking pleasure.

Wine Spectator 93

The blackberry and fig fruit has a gently mulled edge, with anise, wood spice and black tea notes. Light alder and mesquite details stitch up the finish, which is velvety in feel overall but has latent grip. Best from 2020 through 2035.

Wine Enthusiast 94

From one of the most southerly of the Margaux vineyards, this attractively fruity wine is bright with black-currant flavors. Delicious acidity and layers of spice from wood aging promise a fine, ripe future.

James Suckling 94

Plenty of richness and depth to this excellently focused and pure expression of Margaux. Rich plum-fruit aromas and flavors are delivered amid very powerful, fresh tannins. A class act. Try from 2023.
