Dog Point

Dog Point Winery is a brand co-founded by two experts from Cloudy Bay: former vineyard manager Ivan Sutherland and former winemaker James Healy. After leaving Cloudy Bay, they purchased land from Sutherland and created the Dog Point brand. They successfully transferred the essence of the highly acclaimed Cloudy Bay series, which is widely regarded by international wine critics as a true representation of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc.

Located at the top of the South Island in Marlborough, which used to be dominated by livestock farming, the region has now become the undisputed "world capital of Sauvignon Blanc" in less than 50 years since the development of the wine industry. Marlborough's suitability for winemaking is attributed to its abundant sunlight, low rainfall, long and cool growing season, and significant diurnal temperature variation. These conditions allow the grapes to ripen during the day and cool down at night, resulting in fruit with abundant flavor, freshness, and high acidity.
