El Enemigo

El Enemigo winery is located in the Uco Valley of Mendoza, Argentina. It was founded in 2009 by Adrianna Catena and Alejandro Vigil, and they combined their names to create the winery's name, Aleanna. The choice of "El Enemigo," meaning "the enemy," as the name for their winery stems from their belief that we are our own greatest enemies.

Adrianna Catena is the daughter of Nicolás Catena, the owner of Catena Zapata, one of Argentina's largest and finest wineries. She is a historian by profession, having graduated from UC Berkeley in California, USA, and recently obtained her Ph.D. in history from the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom. Currently, she resides in Spain with her husband.

Alejandro Vigil is a soil engineer by training. Together, Adrianna and Alejandro bring their unique expertise and passion to El Enemigo, crafting exceptional wines that reflect the terroir of the Uco Valley.
