Musar

Chateau Musar has gained significant recognition in the wine world in recent years and is often referred to as the "Wine King of Lebanon." Lebanon may not immediately come to mind as a wine-producing region, leaving many people skeptical. However, the protagonist, Chateau Musar, defies expectations and produces exceptional wines amidst the backdrop of conflict.

In 1959, owner Serge Hochar, in the midst of gunfire and turmoil, persisted in his passion for winemaking, revitalizing Lebanon's ancient winemaking traditions. He planted the vineyards at an altitude of 3,000 feet in the mountains, where ample sunshine, day-night temperature variations, and favorable soil contribute to exceptional grape ripening and terroir expression.

The completed wines are aged for a remarkable period of at least seven years in optimal conditions before being released, reflecting the high standards and demands for quality. In fact, Chateau Musar achieved a momentous feat during a blind tasting event in 1989 when it surpassed the renowned Chateau Petrus, leaving the wine world astounded.

Chateau Musar's story is a testament to the dedication and resilience of its owner and the remarkable wines that can emerge from unexpected places.
