Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 95
The 2022 Lenswood Vineyard Chardonnay is tightly coiled, verging on austere, with imbued minerality and freshness in the very first instance of this wine—i.e., the first thing I taste is shaved fennel, metal filings, star anise, scratched lemon peel and dried mint. The palate is layered with green tea and brine, and the phenolics are gently chalky. While this wine is fine, it is also powerfully structured. There are notes of lemongrass and tatami mat. 13.5% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.
