Colgin

Colgin is recognized as one of the three revered cult wineries, alongside Screaming Eagle and Harlan Estate. It is situated in the Pritchard Hill mountain area of St. Helena, Napa Valley. Despite its small size, Colgin Winery is dedicated to producing wines of the highest quality, using exceptional grapes as their raw material.Colgin emphasizes small-scale production and a balanced approach to water and nutrients. They employ various physiological methods to ensure grape ripening, and the decision to proceed with the winemaking process is determined through the use of experimental instruments and the discerning palates of their winemakers. The estate's flagship wines include IX Estate, Cariad, and Tychson Hill.

Ann Colgin, the proprietor of the winery, plays a central role in the estate. She holds a master's degree in art from New York University and has worked at Fairchild's Fine Art gallery and Sotheby's auction house. In 1992, Ann Colgin founded Colgin Winery, and her background in art naturally influences her approach to winemaking. Each wine produced by the estate possesses its own distinct personality, and Ann Colgin personally designs the labels. Notably, the "O" shape on the label is derived from the shape of Ann Colgin's lips, adding a unique touch to the presentation of their wines.
