Kumeu River

Kumeu River was established by the Brajkovich family, who migrated from Croatia to New Zealand in 1937. They purchased a vineyard in 1944, and initially, the winery did not bear the name "Kumeu River." It was in 1980 when the three brothers, Michael, Milan, and Paul, took over the winery and renamed it Kumeu River. Each of the brothers possessed exceptional talents: Michael was responsible for winemaking and even became New Zealand's first Master of Wine, Milan managed the vineyards, and Paul handled sales and served as the marketing director.

The winery's most remarkable offering is their Chardonnay, which has achieved international recognition. It embodies the unique terroir of New Zealand while showcasing classic French influences. Kumeu River's Chardonnays are known for their lightness, finesse, fruit aromas, and mineral notes. They offer exceptional value for their quality and exhibit aging potential, adding to their allure. As a result, Kumeu River has garnered international acclaim and established a strong reputation in the wine industry.
