Alheit Vineyards

The estate is relatively young, founded in 2010 by the couple "Chris" and "Suzaan." Their first vintage was in 2011. The couple continuously traveled the world, exploring the realm of wine, including Napa Valley, Western Australia, Clare Valley in South Australia, Mosel in Germany, New Zealand, and Saint-Émilion in France. Eventually, they returned to their meeting place in South Africa to establish their own venture. Their shared vision was to create wines akin to "Argentinian Malbec." Thus, they chose to work with Chenin Blanc, crafting "South African Chenin Blanc." Chenin Blanc and Semillon have been rooted in South Africa since as early as 1656, boasting a long winemaking history. The wines they produce are full-bodied, dynamic, and maintain acidity. Two years later, in 2013, the estate achieved fourth place in the Decanter Top 50 wines of the year 2013 with their "Cartology" wine. This immediately caught the attention of esteemed wine critics such as "Master of Wine—Tim Atkin," "Wine Advocate," and "Jancis Robinson." It is undoubtedly a remarkable and revered wine from South Africa that commands admiration.
