Leclerc Briant is located in Epernay, in the Champagne region of France. Led by General Manager Frédéric Zeimett, the winery embraces biodynamic principles and aims to minimize interference with the wines. They blend the concept of the five elements (wood, fire, earth, metal, and water) from Chinese philosophy, using different materials and container shapes for aging, presenting a fresh and innovative image. They move away from the traditional use of oak and stainless steel barrels and proudly label themselves as "Bio Chic."

Their approach to containers is truly innovative, utilizing "terracotta amphorae," "24K golden oak barrels of 228 liters," and "glass and crystal of 225 liters." As for aging locations, in 2016, they boldly chose to age their Champagne in the depths of the Atlantic Ocean near the small island of Ouessant in western France. The bottles were placed 60 meters underwater for one to one and a half years. They discovered that maturing the Champagne underwater resulted in a fresher and more stable aging process compared to traditional land-based methods. Leclerc Briant is truly an unconventional Champagne house that is worth trying.
