Lambert's 2018 Saumur Champigny Saint-Cyr-en-Bourg Terres Rouges is super floral on the aromatic nose, with violet, licorice and barbecue-coal aromas intermixed with concentrated dark berry (cassis) and black cherry scents. Silky and refined on the palate, this is a very elegant yet tensioned and pure yet concentrated Cabernet Franc with mulberry, cranberry and elderberry flavors on the palate. It is light yet concentrated and ripe, with good intensity and freshness. Licorice and elderberry again in the aftertaste. A beautifully uncomplicated, young, fresh and fleshy bistro wine whose youth offers a lot of charm. Tasted in February 2019.
