Pierre Gaillard

Pierre Gaillard is a legendary winemaker in the Northern Rhône region. At the young age of twelve, he began working on farms and later studied grape cultivation and winemaking in Bourgogne. He then pursued a winemaking diploma in France and upon graduating, he was hired as the vineyard manager at Vidal-Fleury, a renowned winery in the Northern Rhône.
Pierre dedicated himself to studying the terroir of the region and discovered the unique qualities of the La Turque site. He suggested to the owners of Vidal-Fleury to cultivate this precious land and personally planted grapes in La Turque. Later on, he moved to E. Guigal winery and urged them to acquire the La Turque site from Vidal-Fleury. The result was E. Guigal's first vintage from La Turque receiving a perfect score of 100 points from Robert Parker, which was a remarkable achievement.
Pierre Gaillard's expertise and his discovery of the exceptional La Turque site have left an indelible mark on the wine industry and have contributed to the production of outstanding wines in the Northern Rhône.
