Domaine Muxin is rapidly redefining the potential of Chinese white wine. While many domestic estates focus on heavy reds, founder Mu Chao leverages his Burgundian training to craft a Chardonnay of startling precision and mineral depth. Situated in Cizhong, Yunnan, the vineyards sit at staggering altitudes of up to 2,700 meters, where intense UV light and cool alpine nights preserve a vibrant, electric acidity rarely found in Asian viticulture.

The winemaking is intentionally "low-tech" and high-touch. Following a minimal intervention philosophy, the wine is fermented with native yeasts and bottled without fining or filtration. This results in a Chardonnay that balances lean elegance with a textured palate of citrus peel and white florals. With an extremely limited production that often sells out upon release, many critics and collectors now consider Muxin the leading contender for the title of China’s finest Chardonnay. It is not just a wine; it is a sophisticated dialogue between French technique and the raw, majestic terroir of the Himalayas.
