Packaged with a bright red label, the Tenuta Tascante 2018 Etna Rosso Ghiaia Nera offers an accurate portrayal of the native Sicilian grape, Nerello Mascalese. The wine pours forth to a medium ruby color and a lean consistency from a cool and humid vintage. The bouquet offers delicate berry aromas with bitter almond and even a touch of fried cannoli pastry crust. The wine is streamlined but persistent. Serve it with mini veggie pizzette for lunch.

Aromas of toasted hazelnut, eucalyptus and violet lift out of the glass. Linear and elegant, the polished palate features Morello cherry, blackberry and hints of ground clove alongside lithe tannins and fresh acidity before a salty finish. Drink through 2025.
