Aberlour

Aberlour means "mouth of the babbling brook" in Gaelic and was founded in 1879 by James Fleming. It is located at the confluence of the Lour Burn and River Spey in Speyside. After changing ownership multiple times, it is now owned by Pernod Ricard. Despite being part of a large group, the traditional whiskey-making techniques have been passed down through generations and they still abide by the motto "action speaks louder than words." In other words, "great achievements come from taking action." The distillery mainly uses American Bourbon Casks and Spanish Jerez Oloroso Sherry Casks for maturation, blending them in the most suitable proportions to create a rich and well-balanced whisky that showcases the skill of the master blender. As a result, their double cask single malt whiskies have received high praise, including several gold medals at world whisky competitions. The 18-year-old double cask single malt won a Double Gold medal at the 2011 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Even the 12-year-old expression showcases a perfectly rounded and balanced taste. The 18-year-old is a mature, deep, and spicy whisky with a rich raisin character and a thick, spicy, and rich aroma.
