Ducru Beaucaillou

Château Ducru Beaucaillou is a Bordeaux winery classified as a Second Growth (Deuxième Cru) in the Bordeaux Wine Official Classification of 1855. The name of the estate translates to "beautiful pebbles" and it is renowned for its elegant, refined, and sophisticated style. It has been recognized as one of the top five estates globally by the highly regarded wine critic, Robert Parker, and is considered on par with First Growth estates such as Château Latour and Château Mouton. However, its pricing is only about half of those top First Growth estates, making it a sought-after target for collectors.The estate was purchased by the Borie family in 1941 and they also own several other prestigious Bordeaux properties, including Château Batailley. Since 1953, the family has employed Emile Peynaud, widely regarded as one of the greatest winemakers in all of France, as a long-term consultant, further solidifying the estate's status as a top Second Growth.Château Ducru Beaucaillou wines are known for their gentle but not light character. They are smooth and velvety, with mature and rich aromas and a gentle, refined personality.
