An Australian couple, Andrew Nielson and Emma, with a background in advertising and finance. Andrew was captivated by the depth and complexity of Pinot Noir after tasting a bottle of Dujac Clos de la Roche in 2006, leading him to embark on his winemaking journey.

After gaining experience at wineries in California (Kosta Browne), New Zealand (Felton Road), and Burgundy (Simon Bize), they finally settled in Beaune, Burgundy in 2011, with the mission of "Seeking out special sites in under-appreciated reaches", focus on developing wines from unique and over-looked plots of land.

Inspired by the "The godfather of natural wine," Jules Chauvet, Andrew follows nature's principles, using no SO2 and minimal human intervention during the fermentation process.He also embraces environmentalism, abandoning tin caps and developing recyclable wine bags for a more sustainable alternative. The wine label features a recycled paper artwork by artist Louise Despont, embodying a sustainable aesthetic.

The wines named "Le Grappin" focus on single plots such as the Premier Cru in the Beaune region, with "Beaune 1er Cru Boucherottes Rouge" and "Beaune 1er Cru Les Grèves Blanc" being the highlight. A secondary label, "Du Grappin", features wines from Maccon and Beaujolais, made using whole-cluster fermentation.
