Mihope is located in the renowned wine region of Helan Mountain, Ningxia, China. The winery was founded by the famous Chinese electrical appliance manufacturer "Midea." The owner of Mihope, who is a wine enthusiast himself, decided in 2011 to try his hand at producing world-class wines in China. He established the winery north of Yinchuan City in Ningxia, with a magnificent chateau design reminiscent of the famous chateaux on the Left Bank of Bordeaux. During the initial establishment of the winery, great emphasis was placed on human resources, hiring renowned experts as consultants. Richard Smart, a grape cultivation consultant, and Marc Dworkin, a flying winemaker from France, were brought on board. Marc has extensive winemaking experience in Bordeaux, having worked at Chateau Larmande and Chateau Bellefont Belcier, among others. He also established the Bessa Valley winery in Bulgaria, a pioneer in the country, and is the owner of the renowned Canon La Gaffeliere in Saint-Emilion, Bordeaux. Marc has also served as a consultant for wineries in Romania, Israel, India, and taught at the University of Bordeaux. The team is exceptionally strong.

Now, let's talk about the meaning behind the name "Mihope" - it has two implications. Firstly, "Mei" stands for "Midea" + "Helan Mountain." However, if we look closely at the English name of the winery - Mihope - it represents the owner's wish: "To bring hope for a better life and to toast to a better life." In winemaking, it takes at least four years from the planting of new grape varieties for the first harvest. Mihope started its establishment in 2011, improved the soil in 2012, planted grapes in 2013, and held its first product launch in 2018 (for the 2016 vintage). In 2018, the winery received the "China Winery Wine" certificate, and in January 2019, it obtained organic certification. This timeline demonstrates the meticulous planning of the Mihope estate, and their wines have quickly gained high praise. With a vineyard size of 180 hectares, Mihope cultivates seven grape varieties including Chardonnay, Riesling, Viognier, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Marselan. The vineyards are equipped with drip irrigation systems from Israel. Grapes are hand-picked and selected, and the winery, designed by Italians, is advanced and minimalist. The oak barrels used for aging come from seven renowned French cooperages.
