Rippon

In 1975, Rolfe Mills, the father of Nick Mills, embarked on this wine journey. The vineyards are situated on schist soils formed from the deposits of high-altitude waterfalls and glacial melt, enriched with silica, quartz, and mica. Such a unique terroir environment can only be fully expressed by Nick Mills, who has been influenced by Burgundian traditions and practices biodynamic viticulture. Before immersing himself in the world of wine, Nick Mills spent four years living in Burgundy, France. In addition to studying at the CFPPA agricultural school, he had the privilege of working with renowned estates in France, including the well-known DRC (Domaine de la Romanée-Conti), Domaine Jean-Jacques Confuron, which shares the famous Romanée-Saint-Vivant vineyard with Leroy and DRC, and Maison Nicolas Potel, founded by the son of Burgundy legend Gerard Potel. These experiences have greatly influenced Nick Mills' winemaking journey.
