Yamanashi Meishu was founded in 1750. The first president, Kitahara Ihei, had a special liking for the clear and sweet water of Hakushu, so he chose to brew wine there. Now in its 12th generation, the company upholds the belief of passing on Japanese culture and brewing techniques from generation to generation. In 1835 AD, in order to celebrate the completion of the new brewery factory, the Shinshu nobles specially presented an ancient screen engraved with the Seven Sages of the Chinese Bamboo Grove, hence the name "Seven Sages". As for this screen, it is mounted on one of the buildings. In 2000, it was designated as a tangible cultural property by the Yamanashi Prefectural Government, and the Seven Sages' sign will be preserved forever.
Yamanashi Meijo is located in central Japan. It has been continued from the first generation of the president to the present. The water used for brewing is the Fushirushui of Kai Komine Peak at an altitude of 2,900 meters. The mountain is a sacred mountain revered by the locals. The sake brewed with the Fushirushui is More popular with locals. The brewery has upheld the belief of "continuous efforts to inherit" and has gone through a long history of 300 years. This is also the basis for the "Seven Sages" to win in the wave of the times.
