In 1989, five young winemakers came together to form a cooperative and shared a winery for production. Each member of the cooperative had their own independent vineyards, and they became pioneers of the modern Priorat wine region, elevating Spanish wines to new heights. Alvaro Palacios, who had previously studied winemaking techniques at Chateau Petrus, established his own winery in 1989.
Their distinctive approach involves a commitment to using low-yielding old vines, along with new French oak barrels and advanced winemaking techniques.
