The current owner of the Ballot estate is Charles Ballot, representing a family with a history dating back to the 17th century in the renowned white wine region of Meursault in Burgundy. The estate boasts its own vineyards, including the highly prized premier cru vineyard, Les Perrières. The winery places great emphasis on expressing the terroir while also incorporating modern techniques alongside traditional practices.The entire winemaking process is meticulously followed at Ballot. They practice strict semi-organic farming methods in the vineyards, refraining from the use of any herbicides. After harvesting, each grape is carefully selected and undergoes a gentle, extended pressing to extract the finest juice. The wines are then aged for 18 months in various vessels, and through the expertise and craftsmanship of the owner, they are blended to create delicate, refined, and harmonious white wines. The Ballot estate has emerged as a rising star in Burgundy, producing wines of exquisite beauty and elegance.
