Bonnet Ponson

Bonnet Ponson originated in 1862 when Grégoire Bonnet began his venture in the village of Chamery. He was the first to handle the harvest and production. Later, Jules Bonnet took over and expanded the vineyards, creating the first manual grape press for producing still wine and Champagne. However, during World War II, the estate was forced to relocate and began constructing the current wine cellar.

The name Bonnet Ponson was established in 1957 when André Bonnet and Monique Ponson got married and took over. In addition to the Chamery vineyard, they also acquired the Meunier sur Vrigny and Coulommes-la-Montagne vineyards, which were part of Monique Ponson's family. Every stage of Bonnet-Ponson Champagne production is carried out by the family and their three employees.

With the addition of their son Thierry Bonnet, the estate continued to expand. In 1988, they introduced their first vintage, Jules Bonnet Blanc de Noirs. Cyril Bonnet, another family member, obtained his winemaking diploma in 2006 and spent six years learning winemaking skills at the Fronton estate. He joined his father in 2013 and began transitioning the estate to organic farming and vineyard development, using herbal alternatives. Currently, they produce some wines in the fermentation room without adding sulfur, emphasizing their natural and organic approach.
