Boschendal

Boschendal, founded in 1685, is one of the oldest wine estates in the New World, located in South Africa. In that year, Jean Le Long, a French Huguenot fleeing religious persecution, sought refuge in Cape Town, South Africa. By 1715, the estate was acquired by the Huguenot De Villiers brothers, who built an elegant manor house in 1812, establishing Boschendal as one of the iconic wineries in Stellenbosch.Boschendal has embraced a more modern and vibrant image to appeal to younger generations and has become known for its commitment to ecological conservation and sustainable practices. The estate incorporates solar power installations in its cellars and carefully nurtures the vineyard's soil, allowing for the expression of the unique terroir in the wines produced.
