Branaire Ducru

Château Branaire Ducru has a historical background dating back to the 17th century when it was part of the estate of Château Beychevelle, known as the "dragon boat" winery. Later, it was sold to Jean-Baptiste Braneyre. Braneyre's daughter, Marie, married Pierre de Luc, which is the origin of the "Duluc" in the winery's name. In honor of their ancestors, the descendants built a castle and named the estate Château Branaire Ducru. In 1855, it was classified as a Fourth Growth (Quatrième Cru) in the Bordeaux Wine Official Classification.The wines of Château Branaire Ducru are known for their intense yet elegant characteristics, leaning towards a fruit-forward style. In a charitable auction, the renowned novelist Jin Yong (Louis Cha) named a bottle of Château Branaire Ducru wine "Zhou Botong," describing the wine as having exceptional martial arts skills, a carefree nature, and a sense of freedom. This unique naming added a touch of literary and cultural significance to the winery.
