Burn Cottage

Burn Cottage is located in Central Otago, New Zealand, spanning 24 hectares. However, the majority of the estate is not planted with grapes. Instead, it is a thriving ecological system where nature and the vineyard coexist in harmony. The setting is incredibly beautiful, resembling a secluded paradise, isolated from the world. The bowl-shaped terrain, formed by mountains, acts as a barrier, protecting the vineyard from cold winds while allowing for ample sunlight. It resembles an ancient Greek amphitheater.

Since its establishment in 2002, Burn Cottage has nurtured a diverse ecosystem, including sheep, dairy cows, chickens, and bees. This has allowed them to develop several biodynamic practices, avoiding the use of additives and controlling yeasts naturally. They do not filter their wines and follow the lunar calendar. With an annual production of only 5000 cases, the winery focuses on quality over quantity.

Burn Cottage's Pinot Noir has been recognized as part of the "Fine Wines of New Zealand" selection. Additionally, their white wine is crafted using a unique combination of Riesling and Grüner Veltliner, adding an intriguing element to their portfolio.
