Castello di Ama

In the 1980s, Lorenza Sebasti, the daughter of the owner of Castello di Ama, and her winemaker husband, Marco Pallanti, took over the estate. Marco Pallanti, a graduate of the University of Florence, had previously taught at a winemaking laboratory where he mentored many renowned winemakers. He later went to Bordeaux to study winemaking and became friends with Patrick Leon, the winemaker at Mouton Rothschild. Inspired and enriched by his experiences, Pallanti vowed to make Castello di Ama the best winery in the Chianti region⚡️.

This young agronomist went on to become one of the most respected winemakers in Tuscany, earning the title of "Winemaker of the Year" from Gambero Rosso and Slow Food in 2003🏆. After Pallanti's dedicated efforts to transform the estate, the quality of the wines saw a significant improvement. Castello di Ama's wines immediately received the highest rating of three glasses from Gambero Rosso and Slow Food, and they continued to achieve this top rating for many consecutive years. The wines also garnered high praise and scores from Robert Parker and Wine Spectator💥. As a result, Castello di Ama became one of Italy's greatest wineries and gained global recognition. Its status in Italy is comparable to that of a premier cru estate in France.
