Castello Romitorio

The winery takes its name from its origins dating back to the 12th century, located in the northwestern part of the Montalcino region. In 1984, the estate was purchased by renowned Italian avant-garde artist Sandro Chia, who restored the historic castle, cultivated the vineyards, and established the winery. 

The winery’s consulting winemaker, Carlo Ferrini, has worked with some of the most prestigious wineries in the region, including Ricasoli, Casanova di Neri, and Ruffino. He was also named Winemaker of the Year in 2007 by Wine Enthusiast magazine. 

The flagship wine, Brunello di Montalcino Riserva, has received critical acclaim, frequently earning 95+ points from international wine publications such as Wine Spectator (WS), Wine Advocate (WA), and James Suckling. With its unique artistic labels and high collectible value, the wine is consistently in high demand and often sells out quickly.
