Chateau Cheval Blanc

Château Cheval Blanc, located in the Saint-Émilion appellation of Bordeaux, is one of the Premier Grand Crus Classé A estates and is considered one of Bordeaux's eight legendary estates.

There are two popular legends regarding the origin of the estate's name:

 It is said that the estate's land once housed a charming inn called the "White Horse Inn", where King Henry often stopped to rest while riding his beloved white steed. As a result, the inn was named "White Horse," and the estate eventually adopted the same name 🦄.

2️⃣ Another version suggests that the land where the estate now stands was once part of Château Figeac. At that time, the area wasn’t used for extensive grape planting but rather served as a horse pasture for Figeac. Later, the land was planted with vineyards and eventually became an independent estate, taking the name Château Cheval Blanc .

The estate spans 39 hectares, with the vineyards planted primarily with 49% Cabernet Franc, 47% Merlot, and 4% Cabernet Sauvignon. The vines are over 40 years old on average, with a high planting density of 6,000 vines per hectare .
