Chateau Montelena Estate

Chateau Montelena Estate was established in 1882 and by 1896 had become the seventh-largest winery in Napa Valley at the time. However, it truly began to distinguish itself in the early 1980s, particularly with the "Judgement of Paris" that year. This event put the American Napa Valley on the map as a region capable of challenging the traditional wine regions of France and other Old World areas.

During the "Judgement of Paris," California wines rose to fame, showcasing their capabilities on the global wine stage. Chateau Montelena participated in this competition and triumphed over a highly acclaimed region in the Burgundy area of France, leaving many in awe. This victory was widely covered globally, solidifying Montelena's reputation.

Over the decades, Montelena has maintained its commitment to high quality by extensively researching the best practices, blending tradition with innovation, selecting the most suitable locations, and planting the most appropriate grape varieties to bring the essence of the vineyard to the glass. The estate is divided into 11 vineyard blocks, each hand-harvested separately and then blended. The winery pays meticulous attention to detail, using juice presses with adjustable speeds to remove all stems and immature tannins, resulting in wines that are smooth on the palate with enough tannins for aging.
