Royal Salute 21 Year Old is a blended whisky produced by the renowned distillery Chivas. It was first introduced in 1953 to commemorate the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom. In celebration of the Queen's ascension to the throne, the distillery created a limited edition of 2,500 bottles of Royal Salute 21 Year Old as a tribute to the royal family. Each bottle is adorned with the royal crest, with the initials "ER" representing Queen Elizabeth.The term "Royal Salute" actually originates from a tradition in the Royal Navy, where a 21-gun salute is fired to express goodwill and mutual respect between nations. It has also become a ceremonial gesture to welcome a reigning monarch.The bottle design reflects traditional 19th-century style, featuring an image of Scottish king Robert the Bruce on horseback. The bottle itself is crafted by skilled artisans at the renowned Wade ceramics factory in the UK, taking six days to complete. The whisky has a golden amber hue and offers a smooth and gentle aroma with hints of floral notes and a subtle smokiness. On the palate, it is rich and sweet with nutty flavors. The finish is long-lasting and satisfying.
