This is a rare wine series from the region of "Corse/Corsica" in France. Corsica is a small island located southeast of mainland France. It is known as the birthplace of Napoleon Bonaparte. The island was ruled by the Italians several centuries ago and only returned to French control in the 18th century. However, Corsica is not primarily famous for its wines but rather for its association with Napoleon. Nevertheless, the region does have grape cultivation, including many unique native Corsican grape varieties. In recent years, Corsican wines, including those from Clos Canarelli, have gained recognition in the European market and beyond. Clos Canarelli winery is highly regarded and well-known locally. Yves Canarelli currently manages the winery, which follows organic farming practices and biodynamic principles, establishing a name for itself in the wine industry.

The winery has been selected as a star winery in France by "Le Guide des Meilleurs vins de France," receiving a three-star rating. To achieve three stars is a prestigious honor, shared by esteemed wineries such as DRC, Leroy, A. Rousseau, Dugat-Py, Leflaive, and Ponsot. Furthermore, it has received an impressive score of 19 out of 20 from "La Revue du Vin de France," France's most authoritative wine magazine.

The wine series features two intriguing red grape varieties. The first is "Nielluccio," which has strong ties to Italy. In fact, this grape variety is a clone of the Italian Sangiovese grape and has a cultivation history of over 1,000 years. The second grape variety used is "Sciaccarello," also known as Mammolo, which was once cultivated on the Italian mainland and has been grown since the 1800s.
