Clos de l'Oratoire

The Von Neipperg family has been involved in grape growing for eight centuries in Germany. In 1971, they acquired several prestigious estates in the Saint-Émilion region of France, including Canon La Gaffelière, La Mondotte, Clos de l'Oratoire, and Château Peyreau. Over the past decade, Clos de l'Oratoire has consistently received high scores of 90 points or above, a testament to the efforts of Stephan Von Neipperg.

The estate covers 10 hectares of vineyards situated on the northeastern slopes of the Saint-Émilion region. The topsoil consists of soft limestone, while the subsoil is composed of sandy and clayey soils. The vineyards are primarily planted with Merlot (90%), complemented by Cabernet Franc (5%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (5%). The soil composition is particularly suitable for grape cultivation.
