Derey Frères is located in the village of Couchey, in Gevrey-Chambertin, one of the most renowned wine-producing areas of Burgundy, France. The village of Couchey is considered the heart of winemaking in the Dijonnois region. The estate was founded by Claude Derey in 1850 and has been passed down through seven generations of the family.Over the years, the Derey family has continuously expanded their vineyard holdings, focusing on high-quality vineyards. In the 1980s, Albert and Maurice Derey took over the estate and dedicated themselves not only to Gevrey-Chambertin but also to another appellation, Marsannay.In the 2000s, the management of the estate transitioned to three young male members of the family, each contributing their skills and expertise to the winery. They continue the family's tradition of producing exceptional wines from the Gevrey-Chambertin and Marsannay appellations, upholding the reputation and legacy of Derey Frères.
