Domaine de la Vougeraie was officially established in 1999, but its history can be traced back to 1964 when Jean-Charles Boisset purchased his first vineyard in the village of Gevrey-Chambertin, marking the first step in creating the estate. Over time, additional vineyards from other villages were acquired, consolidating the scattered family plots and ultimately giving birth to the Vougeraie estate in 1999.

In the same year of its establishment, the estate hired Pascal Marchand, who shared the same philosophy, as the head winemaker, while Jean-Charles and Nathalie, the siblings, managed other aspects of the estate. Under Pascal Marchand's leadership, organic viticulture received official certification in 1999, and in 2001, biodynamic practices were implemented in the vineyards. This included the use of horses for plowing, natural fertilizers, and allowing the grapevines to develop their own defense mechanisms against pests and diseases. In 2006, winemaking responsibilities were handed over to Pierre Vincent. In addition to continuing the organic and biodynamic approach, Pierre Vincent emphasized strict grape selection and the use of indigenous yeasts present on the grape skins. He achieved great recognition, winning the International Wine Challenge (IWC) Winemaker of the Year award twice. With a talented winemaker like him and an excellent management team, Domaine de la Vougeraie has gained international recognition, injecting more vitality into the world of wine. It has become a must-have wine for wine collectors.
