The winery is located in the Muscadet region of the Loire Valley in France, close to the French Atlantic coast and not far from the mouth of the Loire River. The area has a lower elevation and a damp, rainy climate. The wines from this region often carry a unique flavor profile characterized by hints of sea minerals.

Guy Bossard, the former owner of the estate, represents the third generation of winemakers and is committed to organic viticulture. The winery obtained organic certification in 1975 and biodynamic certification in 1998. They have been practicing organic farming for 40 years and biodynamic methods for 20 years, making them one of the pioneers of natural wine in the Loire Valley. Guy's simple and steadfast approach to winemaking has earned him the nickname "The Godfather of Muscadet."
