Domaine de Villaine

Domaine de Villaine is a renowned winery in Burgundy, founded by Aubert de Villaine, the owner and winemaker of Domaine de la Romanee Conti, along with his wife, Pamela. The estate spans 33 hectares and is primarily located in the village of Bouzeron. They also have vineyards in Saint-Aubin, Rully, Mercurey, and Santenay. Organic farming practices are employed, and no chemical substances are used. All harvesting is done by hand.

The wines are aged separately in new small oak barrels, old large oak barrels, and stainless steel tanks. This approach ensures that the influence of new barrels does not overpower the original flavors. The duration of aging varies, and the wines are blended using a combination of these three aging methods, depending on the wine's characteristics and the vintage. This creates a rich and balanced profile for the wines, enhancing their complexity. The prices are also very reasonable, allowing wine enthusiasts to experience the craftsmanship of Aubert de Villaine without breaking the bank.
