Domaine des Nugues

Domaine des Nugues was established in 1976 by Gérard Gelin. Over the years, his son Gilles Gelin developed a strong interest in winemaking and joined the estate in 2000, working alongside his father. In 2008, Gérard retired, and Gilles' wife, Magail, joined the estate, taking over full control of the business in 2010.

The estate is located in Beaujolais, France, with vineyards that have an average age of 45 years, with some vines over a century old. The main grape varieties cultivated are Gamay and Chardonnay. The estate encompasses approximately 24 hectares of vineyards spread throughout Beaujolais-Villages. During the winemaking process, the temperature of the barrels is monitored daily, and each wine is tasted at least once a day to ensure the best expression.

The goal of Domaine des Nugues is to achieve healthy grapes and produce refined, structurally complex, and beautifully harmonious wines that truly respect the terroir. The estate's commitment to quality and attention to detail are evident in their winemaking practices.
