【🍷A continution of the Domaine Rene Engel story🦋】

In 1919, René Engel founded Domaine René Engel in Vosne-Romanée, crafting pure, elegant Pinot Noir from exceptional old-vine terroirs. After Philippe Engel’s untimely passing in 2005, François Pinault (owner of Château Latour) acquired the estate in 2006 and renamed it Domaine d’Eugénie in honor of his grandmother.

Under Frédéric Engerer’s leadership, the domaine preserved its historic old vines while embracing organic and biodynamic practices, precise oak fermentation, and whole-bunch techniques. The result is wines of greater purity, finesse, and expression.

2016 Highlights (an outstanding vintage):
💪🏻Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru 2016: From 60+ year-old vines, Burghound 95 pts – muscular yet refined, with crunchy black fruit, floral notes, and noble structure.
🌹Vosne-Romanée Village 2016: Includes fruit from the prized Clos d’Eugénie, adjacent to La Tâche. Juicy plum, violet, and spice aromas with silky texture and vibrant energy.
