Domaine Rene Rostaing is one of the most highly respected and iconic wineries in the Northern Rhône Valley of France. Located in the heart of the Côte-Rôtie appellation, the estate is renowned for producing classic, elegant, and long-lasting Syrah wines that faithfully express their unique terroir.

Founded in 1971 by the legendary René Rostaing, the estate grew significantly when Rostaing acquired top vineyard parcels from his father-in-law, Albert Dervieux, and uncle, Marius Gentaz, in the early 1990s. This expansion secured holdings in some of the most prestigious climats (vineyard sites) of the region, including the powerful La Landonne and the elegant Côte Blonde.

The Rostaing winemaking philosophy emphasizes minimal intervention and respect for vintage characteristics. They employ sustainable farming practices and utilize a mix of new and old oak barrels with a very low percentage of new wood, ensuring the delicate aromas and pure fruit flavors are never obscured. Robert Parker Jr., the influential wine critic, has famously praised Rostaing as "not only a perfectionist, but one of the smartest winemakers." 

Today, René's son, Pierre Rostaing, runs the estate, continuing the family tradition. Key wines produced include the entry-level Cuvée Classique Ampodium and the single-vineyard bottlings of Côte Blonde and La Landonne. These wines are celebrated globally for their purity of fruit, structural elegance, and exceptional aging potential, making them benchmarks for Northern Rhône Syrah.
