Doro Princic

Doro Princic was founded in 1950 by Isidoro Princic and is located in Collio DOC in the northeast of Italy. As wine connoisseurs may know, this region is located in the far northeast, bordering on the left side of Italy. Doro has been a central figure in Collio for many years and first started bottling under his own brand in 1965. He has always worked alone, but later his wife and son joined him in the family business. Today, it is still a family-run winery, with winemaker Alessandro Princic at the helm.

The 12-hectare vineyard is planted with the region's most historically significant Friulano, Malvasia, Ribolla Gialla, and Pinot Bianco grapes. The climate is mild and sunny, and the soil is a type called "Ponca," which gives the wines a strong mineral freshness and exceptional elegance. The winery also keeps their production at a low level, so the quantity available is very limited. However, this allows for a higher quality wine. For those looking to experience a different side of Italy, this winery is not to be missed.
