Based in Gevrey-Chambertin, Domaine Dugat-Py is a legendary "three-star" estate ranked alongside giants like DRC and Leroy. With a history dating back to the 17th century, the domaine was formally renamed in 1994. Today, it is overseen by 13th-generation winemaker Loïc Dugat, maintaining its prestige as a benchmark for concentration and longevity in Burgundy.

The estate is defined by its extreme old vines (averaging 65 years) and meticulous organic/biodynamic farming. Using horses for plowing and strict manual pruning, they achieve remarkably low yields. While older vintages were known for heavy extraction, recent years have shifted toward elegance and freshness, utilizing whole-cluster fermentation and reduced new oak to highlight mineral terroir.

Beyond its Grand Crus, the estate’s Premier Crus like Petite Chapelle, Fonteny, and Champeaux are highly coveted. However, the soul of the domaine lies in "Coeur de Roy" (Heart of the King), a village-level cuvée crafted from their oldest centenary vines, rivaling many top-tier vineyards in depth.

Consistently earning near-perfect scores from critics like Robert Parker's Wine Advocate and Vinous, Dugat-Py is hailed for its explosive power and structural grace. It remains a "cult" favorite for collectors seeking the pinnacle of Gevrey-Chambertin.
