Famille Hugel

The Hugel family relocated to Alsace in 1639 and established a winery, making them one of the most renowned wine families in France. The Hugel estate is known for its refusal to use chemical fertilizers, low-yield production, and an average vine age of 35 years. They meticulously prune excess foliage and insist on manual harvesting. All these factors contribute to ensuring the high quality of their wines, which possess extraordinary finesse and elegance.

In 1998, during the 100th birthday celebration of the Queen Mother of England, a white wine from France captured her heart. As she received birthday wishes from dignitaries, the wine in her raised glass was produced by the Hugel estate in Alsace, France. Five years later, during the 50th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II's reign, Hugel wines were also included in the celebration's wine list. These instances highlight the glory and distinction of the Hugel estate.

The Grossi Laüe series is equivalent to the highest category of German wines called GG 'Grosses Gewächs' or the Grand Cru of Burgundy. Each wine in this series has an annual production of only 500 bottles. The limited production and exceptional quality of the Grossi Laüe wines further exemplify the prestige and exclusivity associated with the Hugel estate.
