The estate is located in the Graves region within the Pessac-Léognan appellation, south of Bordeaux city. Originally, the estate was just a forested area, but it was developed into a winery by the Fieuzal family in the early 19th century. Over the years, the ownership of the estate changed hands multiple times. During the Griffon family's ownership, the wines of the estate gained significant recognition and were even served to the Vatican, establishing a strong reputation.

After World War II, the estate's owner at the time focused on producing high-quality wines, leading to the inclusion of the estate's red wine in the Graves Grand Cru classification in 1953. In 2001, the current owner, Lochlann Quinn, acquired the estate and embarked on a significant investment program, spending millions of euros to upgrade the facilities. This investment has elevated the estate to unprecedented heights of quality and excellence.
