Francois Lamarche

As early as 1740, the Lamarche family was already a well-known winemaking family in the village of Vosne-Romanée. In 1985, François Lamarche took over the reins and led the estate on a path to becoming a top-tier winery. The winery has now been passed on to François' two daughters, Nicole and Nathalie, who continue to uphold the family's prestigious reputation.

A significant milestone for the estate came in 1992 when the "La Grande Rue" vineyard was officially elevated to the status of Grand Cru, just a step away from the legendary Romanée-Conti. The succession of the two sisters brought a touch of feminine delicacy to the winery's style, characterized by fresh and juicy fruit aromas, refined tannins, and a fine texture. In their youth, these wines exhibit flavors of freshly picked strawberries, cherries, and other ripe red berries, complemented by spicy woody notes. These elements blend harmoniously with the wine's solid structure, creating a delicate balance.

This red wine from Vosne-Romanée is the most familiar and dazzling gem in the estate's collection. It represents the epitome of the village's wines, drawing similarities to the crown jewel of the Night Hill. In exceptional vintages, even the village-level wines showcase the winery's superb craftsmanship and offer a rich and full-bodied flavor experience.
