Giacomo Borgogno

Borgogno Winery, founded in 1761, has a history spanning over 250 years, making it one of the oldest wineries in Piemonte, Italy. It has consistently adhered to traditional winemaking principles and, through several generations of hard work, has established a solid foundation. Borgogno Winery holds a legendary status. In 1861, it was selected as the celebratory wine for Italy's unification feast. It was also served at a state banquet during the visit of Tsar Nicholas II to Rome in 1886. More than a century later, Borgogno wines appeared in the famous film "The Godfather," which depicted the Sicilian Mafia.The development of Borgogno Winery is closely intertwined with the modern history of winemaking in Italy. It owns several prime vineyards in Barolo, known for producing some of the finest wines in the region. The winery's winemaking methods have remained unchanged for over a century. Borgogno Winery's commitment to tradition and its connection to Italian winemaking history have contributed to its esteemed reputation in the wine world.
