Hans Herzog is a boutique winery located in Marlborough, New Zealand. The Herzog family has a long history in the wine industry, dating back to 1630 in Switzerland, and they bring a wealth of experience to their winemaking endeavors. In the mid-1990s, they sought new challenges and ventured to Marlborough, New Zealand, specifically the Wairau River, to start growing grapes.

With only 11 hectares of vineyards, they continuously experiment with different grape varieties. Initially, they planted varieties such as Tempranillo, Zweigelt, Barbera, Montepulciano, Viognier, and Petit Verdot—varieties that you wouldn't typically expect to find in New Zealand. The vineyards have excellent soil drainage, allowing for the production of high-quality grapes. The Herzog family firmly adheres to organic practices, abstaining from the use of herbicides and pesticides.

Hans Herzog Winery produces a wide range of styles, including Pinot Noir, which exhibits similarities to Burgundy, as well as Merlot and the Italian grape variety Montepulciano. The diversity of styles and grape varieties they cultivate is truly remarkable. Their commitment to quality is evident in their wines, which consistently deliver exceptional standards.
