Henri et Gilles Remoriquet

Gilles Remoriquet represents the fourth generation of his family's winemaking legacy in Burgundy. The family's origins trace back to Nuits St Georges—Les Allots. In 1979, after obtaining a winemaking degree from the renowned University of Dijon, Gilles officially took over the 10-hectare vineyard from his father. The vineyard includes the prestigious premier cru plot Au Dessus des Malconsorts, located in close proximity to DRC's La Tâche, as well as Les St Georges in Nuits St Georges, known for its grand cru quality.The estate places a strong emphasis on natural farming and winemaking practices. They retain a moderate amount of grape stems during fermentation and use only 30% new oak barrels. This approach ensures that the wines remain true to their original flavors, showcasing the most natural and authentic style with an abundance of complexity. Renowned Burgundy critic Allen Meadows (BH) even praises the Remoriquet family, stating that their Malconsorts, often referred to as "little La Tâche," produces some of the finest premier cru wines from that vineyard.
